Amazing boots! Made in Japan by Attractions Co., please buy them so I stop being sad about the heel not working for me. I walk and stand at work a lot and I am used to flat shoes so these do not work for me..

Copy/paste from Attractions Co:

“The essence of engineer boots that have evolved”

"The attraction engineer boots that show the world spread evolved after two years from the first release. In search of a higher degree of perfection, a new last is used and all the uppers are newly...

HIMEL KENSINGTON

I have simply come to the expensive conclusion that the shoulders are too tight.
My loss is your gain.
Less than three weeks old.
The aroma of the Shinki must be experienced.
The graining is incredible.
This will fit someone else very well and better than me.
Ton- you are correct. The classic J100 just does not suit me.
Using funds for a Himel Brimaco Shinki.

It is a size 46 but fits like a 44.
My chest is 43 and it fits very well.

VINTAGE ENGINEER BOOTS FOR SALE 7D/7.5D (Buco, JC Penneys, Santa Rosa, Sears)

I am downsizing my engineer boots collection, and I've decided these are leaving the pack. Pretty much all of these are a size 7.5D. I wear a US size 7.5D in most brands (Mister Freedom Road Champs, Red Wing, Wesco, Chippewa, John Lofgren, Attractions) and these boots fit me just fine with thick boot socks on. The Bucos are on the snug side, so I prefer to wear those with thinner socks but they work either way. I will list measurements for each pair.

First off, the Bucos by The Real...

Seemingly insignificant things that connect you to the past

It's funny how some seemingly insignificant things can connect you to the past.

The first photo is my Mother sitting at the table at our old house at Oak Hill School feeding me as a baby. I still have the little silver cup, porringer, and spoon she's using to feed me with. But look closely at the screwdriver on the door behind my Mother. That door led from the kitchen down to the basement in the old house. That old screwdriver stayed in that door hasp all the time we lived in that house...

Cleaning Cigarette Smoke From A-2 Jacket?

$

Last year, I found a Roundtree and York A-2 repro jacket at a thrift store. It's in great shape, but has a heavy stink of cigarettes. I took it to a local cleaners, however it came back no better. I imagine the smell is in the liner as well as the leather. Does anyone know of a place I can send it to get it truly clean and stink free. I even attempted cleaning it by hand, but it still stinks. If I can't find a place, I'd be willing to sale it for a very good price. Any ideas?

I'm a steadfast creature of habit: not unwilling to try new things, I just tend to stick with what I like. So here's a thread, not necessarily for making recommendations, but just to see what the day to day is like. Did you break out the good stuff for a special occasion, or just a couple of Buds with buds? Try something new? Maybe tell us where you imbibed...

Last night, for me, was a double Jameson and two pints of Bridgeport IPA with a friend, sitting at the bar where they know our...

Will my new (large-ish) jacket eventually mold to my body?

Hey lounge lizards,

Just got my 1930's half belt from the good folk at Thurston Bros. The fitting jacket was a 44 and a little tight in the chest, so I elected to have a 46 tapered down to a 44. The waist is fine but the chest feels a little roomy. As per the above question, will it eventually mold to my body, taking up some of the slack? Any experience from fellow loungers?

do you dare to commit to wear a single jacket for a month through all your waking hours?

I want to challenge myself to wear one leather jacket for a month (at least can be extended if the goal is met) everyday, 12+ hours a day, and see how it does to the creasing, fading, character it gets by the end of the month, anyone dare to join the mission ?

The Orient Express

The Venice Simplon Orient Express recommenced service in the early 1980's. I learned of this via American Express which must have had exclusive advertising rights in the US and made reservations immediately for the London to Venice trip.

The accompanying literature stated it was not possible to overdress on the Orient Express and my wife and I took that to heart and dressed the best we could. I wore a suit during the day, a tuxedo in the evening; my wife wore a hat and seamed stockings the...

Bronson MA-1 review

I know, one can buy an original MA-1 on Ebay at a decent price. I didn't want to, due to it being hard to be sure of the size, no returns, dirty, sweaty, knits needing replacement, etc...I wanted my own jacket. Some would disagree, but let's move forward to the review.

I had a "mall" Alpha "VF-59. Good fit, but quite a mall jacket. Even after replacing the knits. So I ordered a Bronson MA-1 from Taobao through Superbuy. It's modeled after an early contract, MIL-J-8279. It cost me as...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I was just recapping my current interests and here what it looks like:

- 1 currently ordered jacket (long term)
- 1 jacket about to be ordered
- 1 jacket in talks

Then there are the list of what I am lusting after:

- 1 for the design (buttons)
- 1 for the type (longer, maybe a trench)
- 1 for the warmth (maybe shearling)
- 1 specifically for riding (thinking about Lewis Leathers)

There are a few others as well, this is getting quite excessive... how about you guys?
